In order to support 5G on Apple devices in India, Apple has released a beta update. Users can now test out early versions of software that support 5G networks there. As soon as service providers Jio, Airtel, and Vodafone Idea (Vi) permit access to the 5G network, this software update will enable 5G connectivity on compatible iPhone models, according to sources. Apple users must download the program, install a profile, and sign up for the Beta Program on the website.

In cities where JioTrue5G has been deployed, Jio consumers with iPhones 12 and later will be welcomed to the Jio Welcome Offer. Users can receive free, unlimited 5G connectivity at speeds of up to 1 Gbps thanks to the Jio Welcome Offer. Prepaid users must, however, be on an active plan costing Rs. 239 or more. This trial is open to all postpaid users.

Contrary to Jio, Airtel hasn't offered its consumers any exclusive 5G deals. Once consumers have updated their Apple Beta software to the most recent version, they can test 5G services as part of their current plan in the cities or regions where the Airtel 5G network has been activated.

Apple did not immediately reply to an email, but the company had claimed earlier this month: "As soon as network validation and performance testing for quality and performance are through, we are working with our carrier partners in India to deliver the finest 5G experience to iPhone users. In December, iPhone customers will begin to receive software updates that allow 5G ".

As part of Apple's iOS 16 Beta Software Program, subscribers of Airtel and Jio with iPhone 14, iPhone 13, iPhone 12, and iPhone SE (2022) models can enjoy 5G. Anyone with an active Apple ID who accepts the terms of the Apple Beta Software Program Agreement during the registration procedure is eligible to participate in the program. It is advised that users utilize their Apple IDs if they already have an iCloud account. They can set one up if they don't already have an iCloud account or another Apple ID.

How to sign up for iOS 16 beta testing

Users must first sign up for the Apple Beta Software Program with their Apple ID in order to install these public betas. In the beta's FAQ area, Apple has a thorough tutorial on this topic.

When you're ready to download the update, navigate to Settings > General > Software Update on your preferred device after signing up for the Apple Beta Software Program. Before starting the process, it is recommended that the battery be at least 50% charged and that the Wi-Fi connection be strong.

Before installing the beta software, users who want to test it should back up their iPhones. It is advised to only install the beta software on non-production, non-business-critical devices. Users can also give Apple feedback on usability and quality, which aids Apple in finding problems, fixing them, and improving its software. The iOS beta includes the Feedback Assistant app, which can be accessed from the iPhone or iPad's Home screen.
