The Head of Communications at the GFA stated that a Coach would be named in a week or two to lead the senior national team on international assignments during an interview with the GNA Sports. script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8670065424037850" crossorigin="anonymous">


The GFA had received about 2000 applications from coaches from Europe, South America, and Africa vying for the position of Black Stars Head Coach, he claimed, adding that there had been a mad rush for the open position. script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8670065424037850" crossorigin="anonymous">


According to Mr. Asante Twum, the GFA receives 50 applications per day, with expatriates making up 99.9% of those applications.

When the Black Stars competed in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, Coach Addo was the team's previous coach. In Group H, the Black Stars defeated South Korea by a score of 3–2, but they fell short against Uruguay and Portugal.
