The eight female students who were dismissed from Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region have been called back to class by administrators.

This is in response to the Ghana Education Service's (GES) request that the decision to dismiss the female students be reviewed.

Academic work is proceeding without any issues, according to Peter Agengre, our Upper East Regional Correspondent, who visited the school.

Following their dismissal in 2022 for using expletives against President Akufo-Addo, the aforementioned female students have been called back to class to begin the semester alongside their male classmates.

Despite the fact that last Friday's classes had already begun, the aforementioned students were still at home, waiting for the school administration to send them back to campus following the GES's intervention.

The call from the school administration on Monday asking the aforementioned students to return as soon as possible filled them with joy. In order to determine whether one of the students was prepared to resume her studies, GBC News spoke with her.

The callback was appreciated by Miss Hamidu Huzaimah Daabu, who thanked GES.

Mr. Hamidu Yussif Daabu, Huzaimah's brother, confirmed to GBC News that he received a call from the school asking him to send his sister back to school so she could finish her education. He expressed gratitude for the girls' being able to pursue their education further.

Mr. Yussif advised parents to make sure that supervision was in place.

The administration of the school confirmed that they were ready to welcome the students back to campus but declined to comment further on the situation.
