The government must extend the deadline for bondholders to join the domestic debt exchange program until January 31st, the Christian Council of Ghana has emphasized.
The Council says it has followed the ongoing discussion about the program with great interest and is requesting that the government put the program on hold until a larger consultation has been conducted. script async src="https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8670065424037850" crossorigin="anonymous">
According to a statement from the Council, broader consultation is the best course of action given the concerns voiced by the Individual Bondholders Association of Ghana, Pensioner Bondholders Forum, its Church members, and the general public as an advocacy group that speaks up for the weak in society.
