Ghana's 66th Independence Day will be commemorated in Ho, the regional capital of the Volta region.

President Akufo-Addo made the decision regarding the region.

In order to formally announce the President's choice, Director of Operations at the Presidency Lord Commey visited members of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and disclosed this information.

The Volta Regional Minister, members of the Regional Coordinating Council, and a delegation from the Presidency accompanied Lord Commey. The Chiefs were enlisted to help Mr. Commey, who is also the Chairman of the 66th Independence Day Celebrations, own the event and make it memorable.

Additionally, he urged the House to offer suggestions that would be incorporated into the celebration's schedule of events in order to promote local content.

Togbe Tepre Hodo, the president of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, declared that the region has much to offer Ghana's development and that they are ready to provide all the assistance possible to make the celebrations successful.

Mr. Later, Commey and his entourage went to the site of the Ho Youth Resource Centre project, which is currently under construction and will serve as the setting for the highlight of this year's Independence Day celebrations.

When the team visited the site last week, work on the project had resumed and was moving along smoothly.

The venue will be ready for the culmination of the Independence Day celebrations, according to the site engineer, Lordson Asante, who promised that crucial facilities will be finished on time.

Mr. Commey stated that it is a privilege for the Volta Region to host the Independence Day celebrations this year and that the region will profit from the events' economic opportunities.

The Asogli Chiefs and citizens pledged their support for the events during the delegation's earlier visit to the Asogli Palace.
