Ghanaians are deeply saddened by the footballer Christian Atsu's death, which occurred days after an earthquake struck Turkey, where he played club football. He was found buried under the rubble.

Sherif Ismail Mohammed Frimpong, more commonly referred to as Black Sherif, a sensational Ghanaian megastar, paid tribute to the late Ghanaian player at the Wireless Music Festival in Abu Dhabi, where he performed over the weekend.

As a tribute to Atsu, the large screen behind Black Sherif displayed the words "Rest in Peace Atsu" during his performance.

The words "gone but never forgotten" appeared on top of a mosaic of his images as the screen eventually changed.

During the sincere tribute, Sherif performed a rendition of Bob Marley's Redemption Song.
