Gyakie, a singer from Ghana, is the only Ghanaian artist on South African rapper AKA's posthumous album, "Mass Country," which was released today, February 24, 2023. Gyakie joins the star-studded lineup of the album.
The album, which has been called a "love letter to South Africa" and a "parting gift," shows how much AKA loves his home country and the many different sounds that make up the local music scene. It also features a number of the most promising hip-hop artists from South Africa, such as Khuli Chana, Blxckie, Nadia Nakai, Emtee, Yanga Chief, Sjava, and others.
The pre-released single "Paradise," which features Musa Keys, is Gyakie's feature on the album. AKA sings and raps about everything he is willing to do and has done for the love of his life in this love song.
In an interview with Guide Radio last year, AKA said that he loved Gyakie's voice. During one of Gyakie's trips to South Africa last year, the two of them recorded the song. Gyakie performed at South Africa's Homecoming Festival and also received a double platinum certification plaque for her 2021 single, Forever, and her 2020 Seed EP, a significant career achievement.
